creations include gem stones, glass beads, cameos, dichroic glass, and
semiprecious stones. gold filled wire.
Ellen Glynn has been artistically inclined for
many years, having been involved in stained glass since 1981 as a hobby.
She became interested in wirecraft during a workshop held by Glass Crafters
in N.J. There she learned to use a kiln for glass fusing and basic
wire wrapping techniques taught by John Smith and Linda Abbott. That
was the beginning of her addiction to creating wire sculpted jewelry.
She has continued her learning skills in wire
sculpture from the video workshop for professional wire workers , by
Preston
J. Reuther, Master Wire Sculptor, and from a beautifully illustrated
monthly magazine, The Wire Artist
Jeweller.
Ellen graduated from Nursing School in 1970
and continues to work part time in the health field. After doing her
first craft show, she realized that there was alot of interest in her jewelry
designs and she began to concentrate more towards a wire artist
career.
Ellen has been featured in
Wire Artist Jeweller Magazine , the wire worker
newsletter and The Wareham Courier.
She has been a featured guest on
BNN-TV It's All About Arts in 2002. She most recently
has been selected to be published in a new book called
The Artisan Craft and
will be available in 2007.
